Dammam centre gears up for first youth conference

Last updated:

Arrangements are in full swing at King Abdul Aziz Centre for National Dialogue to hold the first conference to handle youth issues.

More than 200 youth will take part in the conference to be held in November.

A source told Gulf News that the conference, which is scheduled to be held in Dammam, will host young people belonging to different educational backgrounds, Holy Quran memorising schools and jobless university graduates.

Some political observers, however, expressed reservations over the conference.

Dr Adnan Mazen Belailah, a political analyst, wondered whether the conference would be able to bring about concrete results.

"There is a wide gap between our community and fruitful dialogue," he said. He also said that the community needs a reform campaign to assimilate the concept of national dialogue.
