Cairo: The Omani Health Ministry reported Tuesday 98 new coronavirus cases, raising to 1,508 the country's overall infections.

The newly diagnosed cases are 39 Omanis and 59 foreigners, the ministry added in an update without giving a breakdown.

A 53-year-old foreign resident died of COVID-19, bringing to eight the total such fatalities in the sultanate, the ministry said.

The overall number of recovered coronavirus patients in Oman stands at 238, according to the ministry, Oman's news agency ONA reported.
