Cairo: Oman's Health Ministry Saturday recorded 603 new cases of the novel coronavirus, raising to 10,423 the country's overall infections, the Omani news agency ONA reported.
The newly diagnosed cases include 260 Omanis and 343 foreign residents, the ministry said without giving a breakdown of foreign patients’ nationalities.
The ministry reported two new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the country's total such fatalities to 42.
The latest deaths were a 76-year-old Omani man and a foreign resident aged 43, according to ONA.
The overall recoveries in Oman stand at 2,396 as the ministry reported no new recoveries.
Oman last week eased some restrictions earlier imposed to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
A lockdown, imposed on the province of Muscat on April 10, was lifted on Friday. Public workers will be allowed gradually to return to work starting from Sunday.
