Cairo: Oman today confirmed 398 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, taking the country’s total infections to 88,337, Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al Saeed said, who warned that infections are on the rise.

Eleven more deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded, pushing the fatality tally in the sultanate to 762, the minister told a press conference, according to the Omani news agency ONA.

Overall recoveries from the disease in the sultanate have reached 83,325, according to Dr. Al Saeed.

The minister warned that the infections in the country have increased on the past two days. He criticized some public institutions that requested attendance of all its employees.

“The maximum reporting of employees to the governmental agencies should be at a maximum 70 per cent of the overall staff,” he said.
