Dubai: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested 21 infiltrators for attempting to enter the Sultanate illegally, local media reported.

A statement issued online by the ROP said: “Coast Guard boats, led by North Al Batinah Governorate Police, arrested 21 infiltrators on board a smuggling boat. The boat was located off one of the governorate’s beaches. Legal procedures are being completed against them.”

Meanwhile, three expats have been arrested for possession and trade of large quantities of tobacco and alcoholic beverages in the concession areas.

The ROP said: “The Oil and Gas Facilities Security Police Command arrested three expatriates on charges of possessing and trading in large quantities of tobacco and alcoholic beverages in the concession areas. Legal action has been taken against them.”
