Dubai: Kuwait’s Criminal Court sentenced three Kuwaiti men to three years in prison for beating an Iranian expatriate man and injuring to him, local media has reported.

The court convicted the three suspects after it found that they assaulted the Iranian man and caused multiple injuries to him, as described in the medical forensic report submitted to the court.

According to investigations and evidence, the three convicts assaulted the victim when he attempted to stop them from teasing and harassing his wife on the streets.

The court papers say that one of the suspects first assaulted the victim and fled the scene. However, he returned shortly with the other two suspects and further assaulted the victim, who was left bleeding on the street.

The incident was captured by a CCTV camera.

The victim’s lawyer Zayd A Khabbaz said the trio assaulted his client with the intention of humiliating him and disregarding his dignity in front of his wife, causing emotional and physical pain, which is punishable by the Kuwaiti law.
