Kuwait's interior ministry is mulling the drafting of a standard employment contract for all domestic helpers.

The move is expected to solve the issues resulting from differences between contracts drafted separately by the various manpower recruiters in Kuwait.

The standardised contract, to be signed by the employee, the recruitment agency and the employer, will set terms and conditions and will stipulate all the rights and duties of the helpers.

Immigration authorities have been discussing ways to preserve rights with businessmen and representatives of expatriate communities, Al Rai daily reported on Thursday.
