Defendant said to have defrauded 30 women out of 300,000 dinars

Dubai: Kuwait’s judicial authorities ordered the detention of a young Kuwaiti man for scamming 30 women out of 300,000 dinars after making them believe he would marry them, local media said.

The accused was arrested after police received several complaints from women. They said the accused made them believe he wanted to marry them.

The suspect pretended he would set up a company and needed a partner.

The defendant has been remanded in custody for 10 days pending investigation and trial.
