Kuwait City: The Ministry of Health has demanded that all governmental hospitals treat emergency patients without asking for proof of identity, local media reported.

The memo stated that the hospitals should prioritize urgent medical intervention to address the patient’s condition and then once they are stable they can collect identity verification and treatment fees.

No identity

The decision came after it was revealed that some hospitals were inquiring about the procedures as several domestic workers were brought to the hospitals by the ambulance without any form of identity.

In regards to unidentified cases, the Ministry of Health stated that all unidentified emergency patients’ files, once they are stabilized, will be passed over to the hospital investigator. The investigator will put together an official report detailing the case and patient.
