Kuwait: Filipino maid hangs herself in sponsor's house
31-year-old found dead three days after similar case involving another Filipino maid
Dubai: A Filipino housemaid on Monday committed suicide at her sponsor’s house in Al Waha district of Kuwait, local media reported.
The 31-year-old maid took her own life by hanging herself in her room using string, a security source said.
A team of police officers and forensic experts rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident. They found the woman dead.
The sponsor told police that the housemaid had never suffered from any problems. Her body was taken for post-mortem examination and police are investigating possible motives behind the suicide.
In a second suicide incident, another Filipino maid hanged herself in the toilet of her sponsor’s house in the Abdullah Al Salem neighbourhood of the Kuwait capital three days ago.
Aftre being alerted by the family the maid worked for, security and fire men broke down the bathroom door where they found the body. The body was taken to hospital for forensic medical examination.
