Dubai: Kuwait’s administrative court rejected a case to cancel curfew, which has been implemented in the country to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, local media reported.

The lawsuit was filed by a Kuwait citizen.

In its verdict, the court upheld the government’s decision to impose the lockdown and issued administrative instructions about the need to educate the society about the importance of receiving COVID-19 vaccine.

It also called on health authorities to constantly reviewing restrictions, including curfew hours and closure of business activities as well as to keep updating travel restrictions.

Meanwhile, Kuwait has recently seen a rise in the daily tally of coronavirus cases, with 1,504 infections and eight deaths reported on Wednesday.

This brings the overall infections in the country to 213,673 and fatality tally to 1,194.
