Kuwait City: Cemeteries are to remain open for burial services between 8:00am to 4:00pm based on a circular issued by the Director General of Kuwait Municipality, local media reported.

The circular also mentioned that those participating in the burial service are limited to 20 people that are of first-degree relations to the deceased. Each burial service will be approximately an hour and a half, depending on the discretion of the cemetery official.

As for visitors, the cemeteries are open from 10:00am to 2:00pm and all visitors must adhere to the health measures, wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing.

Public spaces

The decision goes into place as of Sunday as Kuwait introduces a new partial curfew between 5:00am to 5:00pm for a duration of a month.

The government clarified that all public seating areas are closed even between the non-curfew hours.

The Center for Government Communication (CGC) clarified that public parks are allowed to remain open for walks only, as any group activities like barbeques and picnics are prohibited as well as the closure of playing areas for kids and seating areas to reduce gatherings.
