Cairo: An Indian man had stabbed a female compatriot to death in a dispute over a butane gas cylinder in Kuwait, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Rai.
The man inflicted several knife stabs on the woman before police, prosecutors and forensic medicine authorities were alerted about the murder in the area of Al Rumaithiya.
Unconfirmed reports claimed that the man, a bachelor, was living with an Indian family and that he lost his temper and repeatedly stabbed the woman during a row over his food rations. Neither the names nor the ages of the victim or the killer were disclosed.
Indians make up almost 1 million of Kuwait’s overall population of 4.7 million people.
