COVID-19: Kuwait's tally soars to 8,688 with record 1,065 fresh cases

Nine more deaths in past 24 hours; total death toll 58

Cairo: Kuwait on Sunday confirmed 1,065 new coronavirus cases, the country's highest daily incidence rate so far, taking to 8,688 its infection tally, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported.

The Health Ministry also reported nine more deaths from COVID-19, bringing to 58 the total such fatalities in Kuwait.

The ministry also said 107 more patients have recovered from the disease, raising to 2,729 the total recoveries in the country.

Kuwait starts later Sunday enforcing a total nationwide curfew running until May 30 to stem the spread of the highly contagious disease in the country.
