6 more deaths bring total to 118 as Gulf state grapples with pandemic
Cairo: Kuwait Monday recorded 841 new cases of the novel coronavirus, raising the country's infection tally to 15,691, the official news agency KUNA said.
All the new cases were in touch with previously infected people or are being investigated for sources of infection,the Health Ministry's spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said.
The ministry also announced six new deaths from COVID-19, bringing Kuwait's total such fatalities to 118.
There are 161 patients in intense care, the official said in an update to the media.
The ministry said that 246 more patients have recovered from the disease, bringing to 4,339 the total of recoveries in the country.
Kuwait has recently seen an increase in COVID-19 incidence rates, prompting the government to impose a total nationwide curfew currently in force until May 30.
