Cairo: Kuwait Thursday confirmed 825 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, an increase of 127 cases compared to the tally reported the day before, taking the country's overall infections to 97,824, the Health Ministry said.

Four more deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded, raising Kuwait's fatality tally due to the disease to 575, the ministry added, according to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.

There are 94 patients receiving intensive care treatment, the update said.

Kuwait's total virus tests have climbed to 695,556 after 5,968 tests have been done over the past 24 hours.

The ministry reported that the overall recoveries in Kuwait have reached 87,911 after 724 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
