Cairo: Kuwait Foreign Minister Dr. Ahmed Naser Al Mohamed Al Sabah has gone into health isolation following his return from a visit to Pakistan whose premier tested positive for COVID-19.
On Saturday, Pakistan announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan had tested positive for COVID-19, two days after receiving his first dose of vaccination against the disease.
Khan, who has been a premier since 2018, is reportedly self-isolating at home.
The Kuwaiti minister met Khan last week as part of a trip to Pakistan.
Al Sabah and an accompanying delegation went into “health isolation” in line with health rules, according to reports.
Health regulations
“They will continue to undertake their assignments while in quarantine in compliance with health regulations,” an official added.
There was no immediate confirmation from the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.
In Islamabad, Al Sabah also held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Mahmood Qureshi on boost of ties between the two countries in various domains.
There are more than 100,000 Pakistanis in Kuwait, according to Qureshi.
