Cairo: The Kuwaiti Health Ministry announced Thursday 119 further cases of the new coronavirus, raising the country’s overall infections to 1,524, including three deaths.

The latest cases include 102 patients who were in touch with previously infected people, spokesman for the Health Ministry Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said in a media briefing.

Four other cases are linked to travel to the US and the UK. The 13 other cases are being investigated, he added.

The tally comprises 32 in intensive care units, according to the official.

Kuwaiti Health Minister Sheikh Basil Al Sabah, meanwhile, said that 19 more patients have recovered from COVID-19, raising to 225 the overall recoveries in the country.

The recovered patients will be transferred to the rehabilitation ward of a hospital designated for receiving those infected with the virus, the minister told Kuwait’s news agency KUNA. They will be discharged from the hospital in the coming two days, he added.
