Dubai: Bahrain has reported 423 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, pushing the overall number of infections to 27,837, the kingdom’s Ministry of Health announced on Friday.

Among Friday's cases, 252 were detected among expatriates, while 167 were found to have been exposed to active cases. Additionally, four cases are travel-related.

The latest cases were detected after conducting over 9,700 additional COVID-19 tests on Thursday. The death toll rose to 94, as two new deaths were reported.

Meanwhile, 635 additional recoveries from COVID-19 were reported, bringing the total number of patients recovered up to 22,583.

This means that over 81 per cent of the confirmed cases have recovered from the virus. Currently, there are 5,160 active cases.
