Manama: Bahrain’s top court has confirmed the death sentences against two Asian migrant workers who were convicted of murdering a third in a prostitution dispute in a long-running case, Al Bilad newspaper has reported.

The two convicts, whose nationalities were not disclosed, had “managed” two Asian girls in prostitution business. The murdered man, who was initially a client, attempted to lure one girl to involve her in prostitution activities for his benefit, a bid that angered the two pimps, according to the report.

The case dates back to 2013 when the two convicts lured the third man to their house in the Manama neighbourhood of Al Noaim where they tied him up and tightly put a towel on his mouth before they attached him to the ceiling with a rope until he died, the paper added.

Later, they sliced up his body and packed it inside a bag that they threw away in a street garbage container. The convicts also seized the murdered man’s mobile phone and 22 dinars from his wallet.

The death verdict was earlier passed against the two by a lower court.
