Manama: A regional workshop aiming to provide an interactive forum to support public and private sector representatives to address integrity in the private sector was opened in Bahrain on Tuesday.

The two day gathering that brings together representatives from Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Egypt, seeks also to improve and identify ways to address integrity challenges in line with international instruments and good practices, including the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC)

The role of governments in strengthening integrity in the private sector and means to improve public-private cooperation on corporate integrity will also be reviewed by the participants.

The workshop on “strengthening integrity in the private sector in Arab countries” is being held with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Organisation of Economic cooperation and Development (OECD) and UNDP’s Programme on Governance in the Arab region (POGAR)
