Punjab Chief Minister Maryam launches Phase 2 of merit-based programme
Dubai: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched the second phase of the Honhaar (talented) Scholarship Programme, opening the door for thousands more students across the province to pursue higher education with 100% tuition support.
The announcement was made via a message on her official account on X, where Chief Minister Maryam described students’ dreams as the “heartbeat of Punjab’s future.”
Expressing her pride in the programme’s impact, Maryam revealed that 80,000 students have already been supported since the initiative’s inception, with 50,000 currently receiving scholarships and 30,000 more set to benefit in the new cycle.
Launched last year, the Honhaar Programme offers scholarships across 67 future-building disciplines, aimed at equipping Punjab’s youth with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
“The portal for the next phase of Honhaar is now open,” the Chief Minister declared, urging students to “apply with confidence, study with passion, and never stop believing in what you can achieve.”
She reaffirmed her government’s unwavering commitment to empowering youth, adding that the students’ success remains her “greatest pride.”
The merit-based scholarships are part of a broader vision to create a skilled, educated, and future-ready Punjab, ensuring that no deserving student is held back due to financial constraints.
