One-year programme offers Pakistanis the chance to study at top UK universities for free
Dubai: Applications are now open for the UK Government’s prestigious Chevening Scholarships 2025, offering fully funded one-year master’s degrees to talented Pakistani professionals at leading universities across the United Kingdom.
The programme is aimed at mid-career individuals with a minimum of two years of post-graduate work experience who demonstrate strong leadership, networking, and influence skills.
Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, Chevening covers all major expenses including tuition fees, airfare, visa costs, accommodation, and a monthly stipend for living expenses.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, called the scholarship a “launchpad for Pakistan’s exceptional future leaders,” and encouraged driven professionals who are ready to make a difference to apply.
“Chevening offers more than just a world-class education. It provides the space to grow, the networks to connect globally, and the confidence to lead with purpose, Marriott said. Applications are being accepted online from August 5 to Oct. 7, 2025, via the official Chevening website. Applicants must submit compelling examples of their leadership and impact in their communities or fields of work.
Interested candidates must complete the application through the official online portal at www.chevening.org.
The process involves:
Registering online and obtaining a unique access code.
Submitting detailed personal information, academic records, and two references.
Selecting three preferred UK universities and master’s programmes.
Writing four essay responses demonstrating leadership skills, networking ability, career plans, and how the scholarship will help them make an impact.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview conducted by the British High Commission in Pakistan.
Candidates are advised to carefully review eligibility criteria and prepare well-crafted applications that highlight their real-life examples of leadership and influence.
Beyond academics, scholars gain access to an exclusive network of global leaders and are immersed in British culture, fostering lasting ties between the UK and Pakistan.
Launched in 1983, Chevening boasts a global alumni network of over 60,000 individuals from 160 countries, including more than 2,000 Pakistanis who now hold senior roles in government, business, academia, and civil society.
