Pune: The vice-principal of Don Bosco School in Pune was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of molesting a student, police said.

Eeju Francis, who was remanded into police custody after being produced in court, was arrested after a student registered a complaint stating that she was molested by him, officials from Yerawada police station said.

Police sources also said that Francis behaved inappropriately with four other girl students over the last few months after calling them into his office.

As news of the complaint spread, protestors began gathering outside the school demanding the immediate arrest of the vice-principal.

“Francis has been booked under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 376 (Punishment for rape) and 511 (Punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code,” an official said.
