Move aims to provide timely support and updates for concerned families and individuals
In response to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly in northern regions of the country, the Kerala government has established two dedicated control rooms to assist Malayalees residing in or near the affected areas.
The move aims to provide timely support and information to concerned families and individuals.
In a statement issued on Friday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s office assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of Keralites in conflict-prone zones. “Those currently in the affected regions or anyone seeking information about loved ones can reach out to the control rooms for assistance,” the statement said.
One control room has been set up at the State Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. Contact details are:
Phone: 0471-2517500, 0471-2517600
Fax: 0471-2322600
Email: cdmkerala@kerala.gov.in
The second is operational at the Norka Roots Global Contact Centre.
From outside India (missed call): +91 8802012345
Toll-free within India: 1800-425-3939
With a significant number of Kerala students and professionals based in northern India, the government’s swift response is aimed at providing reassurance and reliable channels of communication.
The Chief Minister also urged the public to remain calm and follow official instructions as necessary.
While Kerala remains peaceful, security has been tightened in select areas due to its extensive coastline and presence of vital national establishments, including the Southern Air Command in Thiruvananthapuram and the Southern Naval Command in Kochi.
