What happens on arrival in India?

Passengers may be asked to show their Air Suvidha acknowledgement at the International Travel Health Desk. Most travellers can proceed with the usual arrival process, but an Airport Port Health Officer may conduct additional screening depending on the information submitted.

The digital system allows health and immigration authorities to share information and identify passengers who may need further assessment.

Why has India reintroduced Air Suvidha?

India has strengthened health screening at international entry points following the World Health Organisation's May 17, 2026, declaration of the Ebola/Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

The upgraded Air Suvidha 2.0 portal supports information-sharing between airport health officials, immigration authorities and disease surveillance teams to help identify and refer potentially at-risk travellers.
