Patna: Trains were delayed for over an hour in Bihar after a man was found sleeping on the railway tracks.

The bizarre incident took place on the Moghulsarai-Patna railway line, known as one of the busiest rail routes in India, on Friday evening, raising a big question mark over the safety of passengers.

On an average, 300 trains run on this route on a normal day.

Railway officials said the driver of Guwahati-bound North East Express coming from New Delhi was passing through the route when he saw a man placing a bed on the tracks and lying on it.

Ordered to stop

The driver hurriedly informed railway officials who ordered to stop the movement of all trains on the route. A railway official was soon rushed to the spot to clear the track but by the time he got there the man had disappeared.

“I found the man missing from the track but his bed was seen by the side of the track. The man is yet to be identified,” a local railway official, Akhilesh Kumar said.
