UAE's budding cricketers Ryan Chadha and Sharan Kumar lived up to their promise and steered the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Greens to a six-wicket victory over Yogi International in the CSS Homeward Bound Sharjah Ramadan Cricket tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

ECB, made up of some of UAE's finest young cricketers and coached by Indian Test star Abid Ali, played aggressive cricket from the start bowling and fielding outstandingly. Restricting Yogi International to 140, Ryan (44 n.o.), and Sharan (30) guided their team to the target with two overs to spare.

UAE Under-19 team skipper Leon Carlo, who has been recently selected into the Asian Under-19 team, opened the bowling for ECB. Carlo struck by removing opener Susantha leg before for a duck. He then got rid of the other opener Rohit (11).

Santosh (23) of Yogi played cautiously to steer his team past the 50-run mark but Ali Ahmed struck repeatedly. To make things easy for ECB, two of Yogi's tail end batsmen got run out.

Chasing an easy target, ECB slipped into trouble losing both their openers for just 10 runs. Yogi's opening bowler Nishanka bowled the consistent Ramveer Rai, while Latif dislodged Faisal's stumps.

In walked Chadha, fresh from a month long training stint at the Australian Cricket Academy. He displayed his newly acquired qualities and refused to buckle under pressure.

Sharan provided good support, hitting a quick 30, to speed up the run rate. The pair put on 54 runs for the fourth wicket.

Next man Abdur Rehman also played aggressively for an unbeaten 34 off 20 balls to record an unbroken 52-run stand with Chadha.

In another match, Wellfit beat Transgulf by 19 runs thanks to opener Faraz's whirlwind 88 (7x4; 5x6).

Batting first, Wellfit piled up a challenging 181 despite good bowling from Transgulf's Somkanth (4/39).

However, the Transgulf batsment failed to take up the challenge and fell short of the target by 15 runs. Sharon was the chief destroyer with 3 for 17.
