World Telugu body to meet in Dubai next month

Dubai: Problems being faced by the migrant Telugu population in the Gulf states will be discussed during the Seventh Biennial of the World Telugu Federation (WTF) to be held next month in Dubai, said Koneru R. Prasad, patron of the conference, yesterday.

He said the WTF would provide a platform for representatives of the community from the GCC states to discuss issues and suggest solutions to problems.

Prasad said the conference to be held at Airport Expo from April 12 to 14 will be inaugurated by Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Besides Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, several prominent personalities in the field of politics, entertainment, art and literature will attend the event, he added.

Prasad said Dubai has been chosen as the venue "to take forward the contacts established between Andhra Pradesh state capital Hyderabad and Dubai to create more synergy in areas of culture, commerce and industry".
