Class One management Limited, promoter of the Class 1 World Offshore Championship, yesterday announced that the initial Grand Prix of the 2002 Championship will be held in Trieste on June 16, not in Marseille as originally scheduled.
Ugur Isik, Chairman of Class One Management, stated: "Given the limited organisational time after confirmation of this season's Championship, various issues with local authorities have forced the Championship to begin in Trieste.''
The 2002 Championship will still include eight Grand Prix events, held according to the following schedule:
June 16: Italian GP, Trieste; July 7: German GP, Travemunde; July 21: British GP, Plymouth; August 11: Scandinavian GP, Oslo; September 8: Turkish GP, Antalya; September 15: Lebanese GP, Beirut; October 11: Fujairah GP, Fujairah; October 18: Dubai GP, Dubai.
