Wedding wows

A traditional UAE wedding ceremony was the theme of a fashion show organised by the Dubai International Women's Club at Al Boom Tourist Village recently. Khawla Lootah, who owns Lapis, a boutique specialising in traditional Arabic costumes and embroidery, arranged the event.
Khawla is a well-known designer and was recently invited to design the costumes for the hostesses at the UAE's stand at Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany.
She always chooses cultural themes for her fashion shows. "I want to present the customs and traditions of my country to the rest of the world through my clothes," she says.
