Web-based CV marketing venture launched
A Web-based CV marketing venture focused exclusively on Dubai-based employers has been launched by the start-up, DCVM.com, which has its office at Dubai Media City.
The portal will provide a database of suitable candidates looking for opportunities in the emirate. This will be matched with the requirements of the employers here.
Services include the design of the candidates' Web CV, hosting and marketing of the CVs directly to companies in his field and in Dubai, placing the same with newly established companies in Dubai, and unlimited updating of the CVs.
"We can help the Dubai employers by eliminating the middle man and saving them valuable time and money in the process. The candidate's credentials and links to the Web CV will be sent to them weekly in an Excel format which offers easy filtering and sorting options," said Ronald Zreik, managing director of DCVM.com and one of the founders.
Apart from matching the candidates to the prospective employer, the portal also offers the job seekers with the platform to customise their CVs on its website. These can be hosted on the DCVM.com website as long as the candidate requires.
While the portal will not take any fees from the employer for meeting any of his requirements, there will be a none-off charge of $75 from the candidate, which includes those for the Web design tools and e-hosting.
"We will maintain an exclusive focus on Dubai. Since the launch a fortnight back, we have got applicants sending their CVs from the U.S., the Subcontinent, South Africa and elsewhere," added Zreik.
Online recruitment is still a relatively new fangled concept in this region, and traditional job agencies have diversified into offering Web-based solutions of late.
However, a pure online entity in this field is still a rarity. It carried out a pilot test late last year before going in for the actual launch on February 5. Its applicant database numbers since then is in the "hundreds and growing".
Currently hosted out of the U.S., there are plans to shift to Dubai Internet City at a later stage.
