Dubai: Rainfall continues to impact the internal regions of Sharjah as clouds gathered around 4 pm on Sunday, May 11. Al Dhaid in Sharjah and Masafai in Fujairah were notably covered by these rainy clouds, leading to significant downpours shortly after. There is a high likelihood of moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by dust, strong downdraft winds, thunder, lightning, and small-sized hail.

There was a heavy downpour in Al Madam, located in Sharjah's central region, and light to moderate rain over Shwaib in Al Ain around 5:27 PM.

Videos from the affected areas were shared on social media, including on the Instagram page @storm_ae, showcasing the intense weather conditions.

Heavy rainfall was also reported yesterday afternoon in Al Ain and Sharjah, prompting the Met Office to issue yellow and amber alerts across parts of the eastern regions of the country.

This morning, in Mezaira (Al Dhafra region) recorded the lowest temperature in the country at 15.5°C at 5 am.

As the day progresses, temperatures are expected to rise gradually. Tonight and into Monday morning, humidity levels will increase along coastal areas, creating a likelihood of mist formation, particularly in the western regions.

Light to moderate winds will freshen at times, while the sea remains calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Weather forecast for tomorrow

Looking ahead to tomorrow, May 12, the weather report predicts partly cloudy skies with some cloud formation expected in the eastern areas. There may also be the potential for convective clouds to develop over the mountains, which could lead to rainfall by the afternoon.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) is closely monitoring the situation and will provide timely updates on any developments.
