Hot week ahead, humidity to increase by night, says NCM
Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a warning regarding a rise in temperatures across the UAE. In their latest weather update shared on social media, they advised residents to take necessary precautions.
Today, the highest temperature recorded in the country reached 45.9°C in both Al Shawamekh (Abu Dhabi) at 1:15 pm and Tawiyen (Fujairah) at 2 pm.
Typically, the internal regions, particularly some areas in Al Ain, experience the highest temperatures in the country. Over the past weeks, temperature highs have hovered around 38°C to 45°C.
Additionally, increased humidity levels at night may lead to foggy mornings. According to the NCM, temperatures from Tuesday to Friday are projected to range between 40 to 45°C across most areas. To combat the heat, residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activities during peak sun hours, apply sunscreen, and wear protective clothing.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, Tuesday, April 29, the weather is expected to be generally fair, with partly cloudy skies at times. Average temperature highs are expected to exceed 44°C in most coastal and internal areas. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will pick up during the day, potentially stirring up dust, with wind speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, and reaching up to 35 km/h at times. The sea will be mild in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
