Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow fog alerts across parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, expected to persist until around 10:30 am.

Visibility may drop below 1,000 metres in some areas, prompting authorities to temporarily reduce speed limits on key roads to km/hr.

Drivers are advised to:

  • Reduce speed

  • Use low-beam headlights

  • Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles

  • Plan travel ahead, as delays may occur

Warm and humid weekend ahead

After the fog clears, the UAE will experience a warm and humid weekend, with daytime temperatures climbing into the low 30s. The best times to enjoy outdoor activities—from parks to beaches—will be in the early morning and evening, when conditions are cooler and more comfortable. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take care on the roads during early hours.

Weekend chill: overnight lows and outdoor comfort

Overnight and early-morning temperatures will drop noticeably, creating ideal conditions for evening walks, pre-dawn workouts, or outdoor sports.

Key takeaways for early risers:

  • Coolest spots: Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah will see lows of 17°C on both days.

  • Coastal comfort: Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi will record lows around 17–18°C on Saturday, perfect for morning exercise.

  • Morning caution: High humidity (up to 95% in Al Ain and 90% in Abu Dhabi and Dubai) may cause mist or fog, so drivers should remain alert.

Weekend outlook

  • Temperatures will peak around 32°C in Al Ain, with light to moderate winds of 10–30 km/hr.

  • Cooler nights, particularly inland, will make outdoor activities more enjoyable.

Whether it’s a morning jog, a sunset walk, or a beach day, residents can enjoy the milder hours while staying mindful of early-morning fog and high humidity.
