The Met Office forecasts dusty weather conditions to continue this weekend
Dubai: Dusty skies can be expected today across the country, especially over internal and mountain regions.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), there will be a decrease in temperatures today, with humid weather conditions expected at night. This will lead to a probability of fog or mist formation over some coastal and internal areas on Sunday, May 18, morning.
Temperature highs today will be between 34 and 38 degree Celsius, while temperature lows will be between 20 and 25 degree Celsius.
Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, causing blowing dust can be expected today. Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 40 km/hr over internal and mountain regions, while speeds will reach up to 35 km/hr over coastal and island regions.
Rough sea conditions are forecast today over the Arabian Gulf, as a yellow alert was issued by the NCM. The alert states,, “fresh northwesterly winds reach 40 km/hr and rough sea in the Arabian Gulf with wave height reaching 6 feet offshore,” will be expected to continue until 6am on Sunday, May 18.
