Dubai: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said some eastern and southern parts of the UAE could see light rain as clouds build over the region.

Forecasters noted conditions will swing between fair and partly cloudy, with thicker cover at times across the southern and eastern areas.

The rest of the country, however, remains under the grip of high heat. Inland areas are rising toward 48°C, coastal cities are holding between 40°C and 45°C, and mountain spots are slightly cooler in the mid-30s. The lowest reading came early morning in Fujairah’s Al Farfar, where temperatures dipped to 25.6°C at 7.30am.

Winds are expected to stay mostly light, around 10 to 25km/h, but could strengthen to 35km/h during the day, stirring some dust. Both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to stay relatively calm.

Amid these soaring temperatures, Dubai Police posted a seasonal reminder: don’t leave items like lighters, perfumes, or fizzy drinks in the car. With vehicles heating far beyond outdoor temperatures, such objects can burst or even cause fires.
