UAE weather: Rain continues in Al Ain, more showers expected tomorrow

Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has warned that unstable weather is expected to continue across the UAE. Rain and cloud formations are forecast to persist through Monday, August 11, until around 5 PM, with rain of varying intensities already recorded in Al Ain.

In response to the current conditions, the NCM has issued an orange and yellow alert for convective cloud formations that will remain in effect until 8 PM today. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and follow safety measures. The NCM alert also states that dusty skies and blowing dust, which will reduce horizontal visibility, are expected to continue until 8 PM.

The Instagram account storm_ae shared a video capturing the rainfall in Al Ain, highlighting the dramatic shift in weather. In light of the rainy weather, the Abu Dhabi Police have also reminded motorists to exercise caution, advising drivers to adhere to the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Meanwhile, other parts of the country are experiencing extremely humid weather. The NCM predicts that relative humidity this week will reach 85 to 90 percent, with a daily average of close to 50 percent. The maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C on Monday afternoon. Cloudy and dusty conditions are expected to continue in Al Ain and its surrounding regions until Friday, August 15.

Tomorrow's forecast is fair to partly cloudy at times, with a probability of some convective cloud formations eastward in the afternoon. Light to moderate southeasterly winds will become northwesterly, freshening at times during the day and causing blowing dust, with speeds of 10 to 25 km/hr and reaching up to 35 km/hr. The sea will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
