NCM reports a slight drop in temperatures expected this coming Saturday and Sunday
Dubai: Ready for the long Eid Al Adha break? If you are making plans to head out this long weekend, here's the weather forecast from Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8. According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the weather will be partly cloudy across the UAE, but hot.
Thursday, June 5 marks the start of the holiday with mostly sunny skies and some clouds, particularly in the northern and eastern parts of the UAE. Expect moderate winds from the northwest at speeds of 10-25 km/hr, occasionally picking up to 40 km/hr during the day. These winds might stir up some dust, so it's advisable to keep windows closed during peak afternoon hours. The sea will be a bit choppy in the Arabian Gulf but calmer along the Oman Sea coast.
Friday, June 6 continues with similar weather and partial cloud cover in the north and east. The day will feel more humid, especially along the coast during the night and early Saturday morning. Winds will shift direction from northwest to southeast, becoming gentler at 10-20 km/hr with occasional gusts up to 35 km/hr. Sea conditions improve significantly, making it a better day for beach activities and water sports.
On the weekend days of Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, while the overall conditions remain fair with some clouds, there's a chance of rain in the northern and eastern regions of the country. Cloud formations may develop during the day, potentially bringing refreshing showers to areas like Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and parts of Sharjah and Dubai.
Winds will come from the southeast and northeast at moderate speeds of 10-25 km/hr, with gusts reaching 40 km/hr. Morning and evening hours will be most comfortable for outdoor celebrations. Those living in coastal areas should expect higher humidity on Friday night and Saturday morning. If you're planning activities in the northern or eastern Emirates during the weekend, keep an eye on the sky for potential rain showers.
