Dubai: The weather across the UAE is currently warm. Coastal cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi experience high humidity, making it feel even hotter, while inland areas can see temperatures rise significantly.

The highest temperature recorded in the country today is 41.8 °C in Dibba (Fujairah) at 1:30 pm.

The weather will generally be fair, with occasional partly cloudy conditions. It will be humid during the night and Thursday morning in some coastal and northern inland areas, which may lead to mist formation.

Expect light to moderate winds from the northwest to southwest, becoming stronger at times and causing blowing dust during the day, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, potentially reaching up to 40 km/h.

The sea conditions will be moderate but may become rough at times in the Arabian Gulf; in the Oman Sea, it will be slight to moderate.

April climate summary

According to the NCM's latest weather report, this month is considered one of the months of the first transition period (spring); this period is characterised by rapid change and variation of atmospheric pressure, thus leading to rapid changes in weather conditions.

The apparent movement of the sun continues to move north towards the cancer orbit, where daytime gradually increases in the northern hemisphere, and air temperature increases gradually over most parts of the country while mean air temperatures increase by 3-5 degrees during this month compared to March.

During this month the effect of Siberian high pressure weakens, while the region is affected by the passage of extensions of low pressure in the upper, and surface from west to east, such as an extinction of low pressure of the Red Sea trough or trough from the east, and if these depressions deepen, the amount of clouds increases on some areas with the chances of rainfall.

Humidity decreases slightly during this month compared to March, especially during the second half of the month. The chances of fog/mist formation during the first half of the month over scattered parts of the country while the frequency of occurrences of fog or mist decrease during the second half of April.

Climatic statistics indicate that the mean air temperature typically ranges between 25 and 29 °C, with mean maximum temperatures falling between 32 and 36 °C, while mean minimum temperatures range from 20 to 23 °C. Additionally, the mean relative humidity stands at 44%, with maximum values ranging from 62% to 82% and minimum values varying between 17% and 28%.
