The NCM forecasts rain and an increase in temperature until Tuesday
Dubai: Light rainfall was reported across parts of the UAE this morning, bringing a change in the climate in the country. The Met Office forecasts a gradual increase in temperatures across the country until Tuesday, February 18.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported light rain over Mohadub and Al Raas in Umm Al Qwain, Dibba Al-Hisn in Sharjah, Dhanhah, Al Fqait, Al Iqqah, Khatt, Al Halah in Fujairah, Zorah in Ajman; over Al Jazeera Al Hamra, Jabel Mobreh, Khor Khwair, Al Jeer in Ras Al Khaimah.
Light rainfall was also reported over Dalma Island in Al Dhafra region, and over World islands in Dubai.
According to the NCM forecast, the region is affected by an upper air jet stream from the west, which will be “accompanied by various cloud formations of clouds”.
This will lead to partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a probability of light rainfall “falling on separate areas of the country and at intervals, especially in the coastal, northern and eastern regions.”
According to forecasts the highest temperature is expected to be between 27 and 30 degree Celsius, while temperature lows will be between 15 and 20 degree Celsius over coastal and island regions.
Light to moderate winds can be expected today, with speeds reaching up to 40 km/hr, at times causing blowing dust.
