Dubai: Motorists driving on Abu Dhabi roads are urged to drive cautiously this morning as dense fog is expected to reduce visibility until 8:30 am, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM issued red and yellow weather alerts indicating low visibility in these areas. A safety warning posted by Abu Dhabi Police on social media read: “During periods of fog, the maximum speed on Abu Dhabi roads is reduced to 80 kms/hr, and motorists are urged to follow this limit for their own safety and that of other road users.”

Looking ahead, the weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy and hazy during the day, with a chance of some rainy cloud formations in the eastern and southern regions, possibly bringing rainfall. Areas like Al Ain and parts of Dubai might experience some rain. The conditions are attributed to a weak extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east and an extension of an upper air high-pressure system.

Temperature highs in the country are expected to be between 44 to 49°C, and temperature lows will average between 32 to 37°C according to the AccuWeather.

Humidity will increase tonight and into Monday morning, with a chance of mist formation over some coastal and internal western areas. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally freshening and causing blowing dust. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
