The Met Office issued alerts for convective clouds over eastern and southern regions
Dubai: Residents in the eastern and southern regions of the country are advised to be cautious as rainfall and convective clouds associated with rainfall were reported this afternoon.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), orange and yellow alerts were issued for convective clouds over some eastern and southern regions of the country, including Sharjah, Fujairah, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
These weather conditions are forecast to continue until 8.30pm tonight, according to the alert by NCM.
Heavy rainfall was also reported over Showkah in Ras Al Khaimah, and Khor Fakkan, Sharjah. The video shared by sharjahnews on Instagram shows heavy rainfall.
Temperatures in the UAE continue to soar despite the rains. Temperature highs today are forecast to be between 40 and 47 degree Celsius. The lowest temperature recorded today was 27.1 degree Celsius in Jais Mountain, Ras Al Khaimah.
Motorists are advised to be cautious as well, as wind speeds are forecast to reach up to 40 km/hr, causing blowing dust during the daytime.
