Dubai: Temperatures in the UAE crossed 50 degree Celsius today, July 28, despite rain and convective clouds.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported the highest temperature recorded today was 50 degree Celsius in Owtaid in Al Dhafra region this afternoon.

Earlier today moderate to heavy rainfall was reported over parts of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, in addition to the orange and yellow alert for convective clouds over the region.

The NCM also issued a safety alert for motorists in region stating they need to “avoid driving unless absolutely necessary if necessary, drive with caution, and remain vigilant and alert to ensure the safety of all road users.”

Residents may experience similar weather conditions tomorrow, July 29, as clouds are expected to appear eastward and southward, and maybe convective by afternoon.
