Amid rain, DHA shares 5 essential safety tips to equip residents for weather changes
Dubai: As the UAE continues to experience unstable weather, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has issued an advisory with guidelines to help residents stay safe amid changing weather conditions.
Taking to social media, DHA has shared five essential safety tips to prepare for weather changes.
The authority has urged residents to conduct a “risk assessment.” This is to “understand potential hazards and vulnerabilities specific to your area,” the authority explained.
DHA pointed out that emergency planning is also key. For this, the authority has advised residents to create an emergency contacts list.
In preparation for adverse weather, the DHA recommended stocking up emergency supplies for three days. “Build a three-day emergency kit with water, medications, and food essentials,” the authority said.
It is also important to “protect your home from rain damage with flood-resistant construction and maintenance,” said DHA.
Precautionary measures include securing doors and windows, and preparing sandbags if necessary.
Pointing out the importance of staying informed and alert, DHA urged residents to monitor weather conditions and forecasts.
However, the authority said that residents should “avoid misinformation and rely on authorised sources.”
The DHA highlighted the importance of preparation, urging residents to take proactive steps to stay safe. “Be prepared, and stay safe!” the authority said.
