Dubai: Unstable rainy weather that has lashed the UAE with cool temperatures, wind and rain is expected to ease on Tuesday, according to the national weather bureau.

Weather forecasters said “the unstable weather will become weak gradually”, giving way to improved weather conditions.

The outlook falls on the heels of a solid week of daily rain accompanied by winds that have made driving difficult for motorists resulting in thousands of emergency calls to police across the country.

On Monday, inclement rain prevailed once again following four days of similar conditions that lead to high amounts of precipitation, especially in the Northern Emirates, resulting in overflowing wadis which breached their mountain banks in some areas.

Monday’s weather resulted in “intense rainfall and thunder and towering clouds at the time,” said the National Centre of Meterology and Seismology in its short-term forecast.

The centre advised people to “take precautions while driving during the rainfall and poor visibility.”

The weather centre warned the maritime community to avoid heading out into the Gulf waters as well as the Oman Sea dues to the possibility of high waves and rough seas whipped up by high winds.
