Dubai: Residents in the northern Emirates were delighted to wake up to more rain on Sunday, as billowing rain clouds could be seen making their way to Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), unstable weather will continue across the UAE on Sunday, with dark clouds and rainfall of different intensity expected to continue throughout the day, “and there may be lightening at times.”

Moderate to strong winds will also pick up dust across exposed areas, and residents were also warned about rough seas in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

Heavy rain is expected to hit various areas of the country on Sunday and Monday, according to the NCM, and is expected to subside by Monday afternoon.
Southeasterly to Northeasterly winds of 30-40km/h will affect the coastal areas, and may reach up to 65km/h at times.

Residents flooded social media with photos and videos of Saturday night’s storm that affected many parts of the country, especially in Ras Al Khaimah and the northern emirates.
