Mercury dips to 15.8°C in Jebel Jais as fog blankets central and eastern UAE

Visibility reduced to less than 1,000 in parts of UAE, while fog alert for motorists remains

Dubai: As temperatures continue to dip in the UAE — it was down to 15.8 degrees Celsius in Jebel Jais early — visibility was reduced to less than 1,000 metres in Abu Dhabi and other interior areas of the UAE on Tuesday morning.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology department issued a weather warning about fog and poor visibility over some central and western areas, as heavy mist affected a wide swathe of the country until about 7am.

At least nine in-bound flights to Abu Dhabi International Airport and another 30 in-bound flights to Dubai international were reported delayed between the 3am to 9am timeframe on Tuesday

NCMS reported mist affecting Al Wathba and Sieh Shuiab - Al Fayah Road, Madinat Zayed and Sweihan and Al Minhad.

NCMS has kept the fog alert for motorists driving during the early morning hours on Wednesday, November 1.
