Dubai: Get ready for heavy dust clouds and light showers, as authorities predict that various parts of the country will face unpredictable weather over the next two days.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) issued a statement on Monday, expecting strong north-westerly winds that will particularly affect the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, resulting in poor visibility due to strong dust and sand clouds blowing through interior parts of the country.

According to the NCMS, Tuesday morning will be wet and partially cloudy with strong dust and sand storms, as vigorous winds are expected to reach between 25 and 35 km/h, with gusts of up to 55km/h.

“Wednesday is expected to be wet with a chance of light mist and fog in the morning, especially in inland areas, with moderate winds,” said the NCMS in a statement.

“Motorists are urged to be more cautious, drive slowly and leave enough distance between vehicles due to winds aggravating dust and sand.”
