Dubai: It will be an enjoyable weekend with cooler day time temperatures and the rough seas will calm down and anglers can once again go fishing, according to the duty forecaster at the Dubai Meteorological Office.

There will be no light drizzle but humidity levels will climb up on Thursday bringing a risk of mist and fog early Friday in Dubai. Motorists are advised to watch out as visibility could drop. There is a chance of rain, but this will be over the Gulf waters, said the forecaster.

Very strong North-Westerly winds of 30 knots will churn up waves of between 6 to 10 feet and the marine warning will continue until Tuesday, the duty forecaster said. Wednesday it will be partly cloudy and relatively warmer.

Holidaymakers who plan to camp out will find it a bit chilly in the nights in the open desert areas when temperatures are expected to drop down top to 19 degree Centigrade and even lower. The temperatures will recover by Saturday when it will climb back to 31 degree Centigrade.

In Abu Dhabi, Wednesday is expected to be overcast, while on Saturday there is a chance of a thunderstorm and scattered showers.

UAE residents are gearing up for the Eid holidays. While some are leaving the country and heading home, those who stay back can enjoy the ‘comfortable and nice weather’, which is ideal for barbecues.

With the first light drizzle on Sunday, forecasters announced that Winter has arrived in the UAE. With the change in weather, people are gearing up for colds and coughs and the usual flu.
